the first one that will be compatible is a fps, and halo 3 will be as well... which clearly is quite stupid.. the mouse is much much easier to use

Both Console and PC have advantages and disadvantages. The PC's advantage in the FPS situation will be of course the Keyboard and Mouse control scheme, however Halo has always been on the Xbox, and most hardcore halo players play it on the xbox, so they should be quite comfortable with the controls. However the Xbox 360 does have some signifigant advantages over the PC performance wise, Halo 3 will be optimized for the Xbox 360, and will run without chopping or a reduction in frame rate something that cannot be assured on PC as no two PC's are alike after you take it home and begin putting your own software on it, also Windows slows down your internet connection quite a bit with it's "security", dropping the number of max connections. So Xbox players will have an advantage in performance on their machines, as well as a faster internet connection on average.

In my company's game Dawn of Fantasy, we plan on having it cross compatible for multiplayer between PC & Xbox 360 users, however time will tell if we impliment it or not.

hmm considering the fact that i have xbox 360 and pc... i am versed with both controls quite well... and assuming the controls will be like bfme2 for the 360 i can tell you its going to be a flop... and as for the hard core halo players or any kind of halo fan.. coming and playing halo wars i highly doubt it will happen since most dont like rts games so they bought a console.. now however if u were to put it on the computer, i for one would actually play it.. i know a lot of others think the same way and would buy it for pc.. but the console has never been made for rts games.. and imo never will with a controller..

also if it were pc many more copies would sell, and there would be a bigger player community. and as for the game being choppy, thats what graphic settings are for. and windows does not slow you pc down lol.. or at least not mine, and if people do have a problem with that, they are doing something wrong because you can turn whatever is slowing your pc down off.. as with fire walls etc

With comparable hardware, a PC is much slower than an Xbox 360, because an Xbox 360 doesn't need to run an opperating system the only software it runs is the game, and if your playing online, the xbox live protocols. A PC has to run not only the game your playing, but DOS, Windows, and whatever applications are running in your background. Yes I agree that you can lower your settings, but it will never run without fault 100% of the time like an Xbox 360 will. Also the Xbox 360 is a beast of a machine, with specs you wont have in a PC yet http://www.xbox.com/en-AU/support/xbox360/manuals/xbox360specs.htm.

Also users of Windows XP SP2 or Vista will have signifigantly slower internet connection speeds due to limiting your max number of TCP connections to 10 (Vista Home only allows 5), unless you edit your registry manually.

it is possible to have a much better computer than a 360.. for example

EVGA 2x 8800GTX Ultra in sli
EVGA nforce 680i mobo
2x1 gig sticks of corsair dominator ram
1000 watt ocz psu unit
2 x 150 gig western digital raptor x 10,000 rpm hard drives in raid 0

also im pretty sure you didnt mean that computers couldnt be faster but i felt like posting my dream machine lol...

i doesnt change the fact that rts games just dont work on consoles because of the controller... as i said before i have an xbox as well as a computer.. obviously.. and i have played bfme2 and that was hell.. but not as bad as i thought it would be.. but i just dont see how halo wars could improve on the ease of a game.. console for fps and computer for everything.. its just too **** hard to build buildings, select units, and control what is going on.. unless of course they include a mouse and keyboard.. or why not a xbox motherboard.. which could be used for other games in the future.. like a Microsoft release.. not just for the game etc.. and you could plug it into the usb port

I never heard of that, on Xbox live you can see who's playing what on your vista pc, but you cannot engage them in the same game on a different platform. At least that's the case for Halo 2 vista.

I thought I saw certain games that say they are: "360vsPC compatible" or something

Was it this game? http://pc.gamespy.com/pc/shadowrun/794796p1.html

The folks down at Microsoft don't think like most of us... Halo Wars is obviously going to be horrible to control without a keyboard and mouse, but I reckon only thing they're thinking is "if we sell Halo games on xbox, sell big. If we sell different Halo game on xbox, probably still sell big." Maybe the disappointing reception to the game may tempt them to bring it to the good old pc. Personally, I think RTS games for consoles is retarded  Angry

I'm really looking forward to seeing how Halo Wars is going to turn out, it not be that great but because of the Halo name it's going to sell well and if the game is at least half-good then more people will be interested in the RTS genre. Personally I think as long as its not a dreadful RTS Halo Wars is going to give the RTS genre the shot in the arm it needs.
